Но Маллиган далеко не пессимист; во всем этом он не видит ничего окончательного, ничего непоправимого. Описание школы в начале (снятое в настоящем учебном заведении) поражает насмешливым и достоверным реализмом. При такой убедительной обстановке развитие сюжетных линий кажется более блеклым. Сэнди Деннис своей захватывающей игрой доводит персонажа до невроза при том, что ход повествования не предоставляет достаточных оснований и объяснений для подобного состояния.
